Steering tie rods and ends, oil and filter, bulbs and consumables

Routine engine oil, oil filter, and air filter replacement.

Filter and oil specs are identical to the previous set.

Interior dome light bulbs replaced with genuine LEDs.

Also replaced a few clips broken during the previous interior teardown, and the wiper blade rubbers.

After the battery got drained by the alarm system, I couldn’t shake the idea of fitting a higher-capacity battery. A case and cover from the V6-engine models were bought a while ago — they fit up to 80 A·h. The mounting pins on the lower tray line up.

This time I also ordered the retaining plate (on top) and the stud brackets (on the sides).

Still haven’t gotten around to installing it, though. The Furukawa FB 9000 70B24L, 50 A·h, is heading into its sixth year (installed in the autumn of 2020) and still starts the car at -19°C after a week of standing idle with the alarm active. The kit will probably stay packed away for good. Given that mileage over the last couple of years is only 4-7 thousand km, the next battery will likely just be a catalog Furukawa at 45 A·h anyway.
